Thank you for you interest in applying to pitch the Mathes Innovation Center Angel Investor Network at William Jewell College. If you would like to be considered for our program, please complete the following application in its entirety. Selected companies will be contacted for pitch scheduling.


Pitches to the Mathes Innovation Center Angel Investor Network MUST meet the following criteria -

  • For profit entities

  • Scalable business models

  • Early-stage companies (validated business ideas/products)

Please note that the Primary Contact will be the main contact person for William Jewell College staff to communicate with regarding all details, pitch date, logistics, and this person will be responsible for communicating pitching details to additional team members.


The primary contact must be a founder.

By submitting an application to pitch to the Mathes Innovation Center (“MIC”) Angel Investor Network at William Jewell College (WJC), you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  1. No Guarantee of Funding or Participation

    • Submission of an application does not guarantee an invitation to pitch, acceptance into the MIC Angel Investor Network, or receipt of funding.

    • MIC and/or WJC reserves the sole discretion to accept, reject, or remove any application without explanation or liability.

  2. No Liability for Outcomes

    • MIC and/or WJC , its staff, board members, advisors, investors, and affiliates assume no responsibility for the success, failure, or outcome of any applicant’s business or venture.

    • Participation in the application or pitch process does not create any partnership, joint venture, fiduciary duty, or obligation on the part of MIC and/or WJC or its network.

    • Applicants remain solely responsible for all decisions, actions, and consequences relating to their business.

  3. No Investment Advice

    • Nothing provided by MIC and/or WJC, its representatives, or the Angel Investor Network should be construed as legal, financial, tax, or investment advice.

    • Applicants are strongly encouraged to seek independent professional advice before entering into any investment or contractual relationship.

  4. Confidentiality

    • MIC and/or WJC will treat all submitted application materials as private and confidential, and will not share them outside of the MIC and/or WJC team, advisors, and participating investors reviewing applications, except as required by law.

    • While MIC and/or WJC will take reasonable measures to maintain confidentiality, MIC and/or WJC cannot guarantee absolute protection against unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse of submitted materials.

    • This includes transmission of this application, which is not

      encrypted, nor will the information to various

      parties as authorized by the program be distributed in an

      encrypted environment.

    • If you have sensitive technical data, contact our representative to arrange for an alternate form of

      submission.

  5. Intellectual Property

    • Applicants retain ownership of their intellectual property. Submission of an application does not transfer or assign any intellectual property rights to MIC and/or WJC or its affiliates.

    • Applicants are solely responsible for protecting their intellectual property, including but not limited to seeking patents, trademarks, or copyrights where appropriate.

  6. Release of Claims

    • By applying, you agree to release and hold harmless MIC and/or WJC, its staff, board, advisors, investors, and affiliates from any and all liability, claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising directly or indirectly from your participation in the application or pitch process.

  7. Applicant Responsibility

    • Applicants represent and warrant that all information submitted is accurate, complete, and not misleading.

    • Applicants are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and third-party rights.

  8. Additional Disclaimers

    • By applying to the program, You are representing that You are legally authorized to make binding statements on behalf of the Offering Company and to enter contracts on its behalf.

    • You are further representing that You have the authority to offer to sell ownership interests in the Offering Company.

    • You are representing that Your Company has the legal authority to conduct its business in jurisdiction where it operates and/or sells its products or services.

    • You are representing to Provider and to the Independent Investors that the Offering Company is not a publicly traded company, and the securities that are available or are being made available are not regulated securities.

    • You understand that Investors will receive the information You provide in this application questionnaire as well as any statements You make during any conversation or in a pitch at an Event, about the Offering Company in connection with Your offer to sell an ownership interest in the Offering Company.

    • You understand that the Independent Investors will rely on the information You provide, including Your representation in this Agreement that You are authorized to provide the information.

    • You understand that Your representations will be material in inducing an Independent Investor to investing in the Offering Company.

    • You represent that the information You provide, in the questionnaire attached hereto as well as any statements you make during any conversation or in a pitch, is truthful, accurate, and complete. Any material misrepresentation may lead to civil and criminal liability.
